Adjustable 1/4" Foot with Guide for IDF System 920566096 OEM Quality for Viking

The Adjustable 1/4" Foot with Guide for IDF System is designed to help you achieve precise 1/4” (6 mm) or scant 1/4” seams when piecing. The oval-shaped needle hole allows for needle position adjustments, ensuring accuracy for different sewing needs. The distance between the center needle position and the guide is exactly 1/4” (6 mm), making it ideal for consistent seam allowances. This foot is also excellent for topstitching, allowing you to adjust the needle position and use the built-in guide to place stitches exactly where you want them on quilt blocks, garments, or home décor projects. The red markings on the foot help align fabric at the beginning of a seam, at corners, and at the end of your stitching, ensuring precision throughout your project.

How to Use:

For Piecing:

Attach the Foot Snap on the Adjustable 1/4” Foot with Guide.
a straight stitch:
For a 1/4” (6 mm) seam, a center needle position.
For a scant 1/4” seam, adjust the needle position one or two steps to the right.
Position the Fabric Place the fabric pieces right sides together under the presser foot, aligning the fabric edges with the guide on the foot.
Sew the Seam Sew the fabric pieces together, keeping the edges touching the guide for precise seams.
Press the Seam Allowance Press the seam allowance as needed.

Note:

Depending on the fabric weight and thread thickness, you may need to adjust the needle position for the perfect seam allowance. Move the needle to the right to decrease the seam allowance or to the left to increase it. The needle can be adjusted up to three steps in either direction but no more.

Important: Do not use the straight stitch plate when using the Adjustable ¼” Foot with Guide.

For Topstitching:

Attach the Foot Snap on the Adjustable ¼” Foot with Guide.
Your Stitch a straight stitch, triple straight stitch, or mock hand quilting stitch. Adjust the needle position as needed.
Position the Fabric Place the project under the presser foot, aligning the guide in the ditch of the seam or along the edge of the fabric. Sew for precise and evenly spaced topstitching.
